Welcome to the University of South Wales Output Submission Web Pages. Here you will find the information and documents you need in order to successfully submit your research outputs.
The University of South Wales requires that authors notify the University of the publication of all research and scholarly outputs via the Output Submission Process. This will not only enable your outputs to be logged onto the University Research Management Information System (RMIS) but is the mechanism by which your output will be displayed in the Institutional Research Repository.

The University is currently developing the Research Management Information System (RMIS), a central system to store all information on research activity . This system will provide consistency by ensuring that all information on research activity can be access across the University but stored in one place. Line The RMIS currently has the ability to store data on staff, outputs, postgraduate research students, and centres and groups membership. The system is linked to Quercus+ which provides core information on postgraduate students and to the University of South Wales Online Research Repository.
The RMIS is due for completion in 2013 as the functionality to store information on external funding applications, post-award data, Higher Academic Awards and manage the University’s submission to REF2014 will be developed. Once completed, therefore, the RMIS will be a vital tool for the day to day management and reporting of research activity both internally and externally.
Another distinctive feature of RMIS is the ability for academic users to access the RMIS via their own personal ‘dashboard’. This functionality was released to all academic staff in December 2011 to allow academics to view the information stored on the system which relates to them i.e their research portfolio.
As an academic you are able to access the ‘dashboard’ system via the following link, http://rmis.glam.ac.uk, and log on using your university username and password if prompted. On logging into the system a default ‘dashboard’ view will be displayed.
The dashboard will allow you to view the following:
• Your research outputs (My Outputs)
• Research students you have supervised or examined (My Students)
• Your staff details as recorded on the system (My Details)
• Other research related information, via a number of handy links (Links)
Feedback
The functionality associated with the ‘dashboard’ does not allow you to edit any records but there is a feedback function for you to report any missing or inaccurate data. Your feedback will be received by the Research Office and a copy of your email will be sent to your staff email account for your reference. You can also use this functionality for any general feedback and we would welcome your views on any further requirements you may have. Alternatively you can also get in touch with the Research Office directly by emailing researchoffice@southwales.ac.uk
Academic User Guide
An academic user guide has been developed to provide a helpful step by step guide to the ‘dashboard’ to enable you to easily navigate yourself around the information presented. The document can be downloaded from the following link: Academic User Guide
The University of South Wales Online Research Repository was launched in May 2008. The Repository is a tool which allows easy and open access to all types of digital content. The software enables the University to showcase research outputs across all subject areas and allows access to full text articles not normally available via the publishers own website.
The Repository can be accessed directly via the University of South Wales Research Repository homepage, the Repository homepage
or alternatively via Research homepage
or The University of South Wales Repository homepage
By submission via the output submission process the details of your output along with the full output if available will be transferred to the Repository. Please take time to read the University of South Wales Research Repository Policy as every time you complete an OSF you, as author, agree to the Repository Licence terms contained within the document.
Further information and guidance can be found in the Output Submission FAQs.
