University of Glamorgan Research Groups
Traditionally, research at the University of Glamorgan has been structured into Research Units and Research Centres. The Research Office reviewed the structure of research at Glamorgan by analysis of research activity in the research groupings, discussion with academics and the Heads of Research and via debate at Research Forum and Research Committee. It was agreed that the current structure does not require a complete overhaul however, a more effective way of enhancing multi-disciplinarity and communicating our distinctive approach to research to the external environment is necessary. To this end, the concept of Fields of Research has been developed. The Fields of Research will over-arch the current research groupings and act as a mechanism for focussing future developments.
The Six Fields of Research are:
1. Energy and the Environment
2. The Digital Economy
3. Security and Resilience
4. Health and Wellbeing
5. Enterprise and Social Innovation
6. Culture and Society
